'Digital Equipment & Systems' at CeBIT attracts resellers and buyers
Complete range of hardware, entertainment electronics and peripherals
New presentations - Lifestyle@CeBIT and digital imaging
Live IP TV from Planet Reseller for the first time.
The full range of hardware, entertainment electronics and peripherals on offer attracts resellers and buyers in particular to CeBIT. The main focus of CeBIT 2007, which takes place from 15 - 21 March, will be the 'Digital Equipment & Systems' display category, which covers a total of nine halls: 1 to 2 and 19 to 25. At last year's event, this display alone attracted 210,000 visitors. Topics featuring in the 'Digital Equipment & Systems' display next year include HDTV, interactive entertainment, mobile TV, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, quadruple play, intelligent living, and multifunction consoles. Exhibitors include leading suppliers such as AMD, Hitachi, Intel, Microsoft, NEC, Samsung, Sanyo, Sharp, Toshiba and Vestel.
Special displays 'digital living' and Lifestyle@CeBIT
The two presentations 'digital living' and Lifestyle@CeBIT underline how IT, telecommunications and consumer electronics are merging closer together, and how individual components from a range of manufacturers are being combined. Live talk shows and product shows with famous TV presenters take center stage in the 'digital living' display. 'digital living' highlights the luxuries and possibilities opened up by the new digital world, ranging from FullHD technology - which plays MPEG-4 files from a computer via PowerLAN from an HD network receiver - through to Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. Resellers are not only shown how the technology works, they also learn which questions and issues are most important when it comes to deciding which items to buy.
A further highlight is the 'Lifestyle@CeBIT' special display with digital entertainment electronics in 16 individual living environments. Here, visitors can experience which products and combinations can be used to create a real lifestyle feeling. Topics featured include HDTV, HiFi sound and racks, multimedia PC/media center, interactive TV and media streaming.
digital imaging
The 'digital imaging' display in Hall 23 focuses on new solutions from the world of the image. Theme areas include Image Capture, Processing, Storage, Transfer, Output, Services and Consumables. Novices, enthusiastic amateurs, professionals and specialist resellers can find out more about the latest products and solutions in digital imaging. Picture galleries, designer lounge areas and photo competitions all add to the ambience of the event and get creative juices flowing.
Five years of Planet Reseller
The specialty retailing center 'Planet Reseller' in Hall 25 is tailored to the wishes and requirements of resellers. The center will be celebrating its 5th year at CeBIT 2007, and remains the central point of contact for resellers from all CeBIT categories. Exhibitors include Acer, API and Electronic Partner. The industry associations BVT (German Technical Retail Trade Association) and ZVEH (General Association of the German Electrical and IT Industry) will also be on hand to offer advice. For the first time, the CRN-TV (Computer Reseller News) editorial team will be producing special shows directly in Planet and broadcasting them over the Internet. Each day, well-known international faces in the industry will give interviews in the glass-walled CRN-TV studio.
CeBIT Competence Store
Resellers will receive regular updates from Deutsche Messe Hannover on new products and relevant CeBIT topics throughout the year, and not just during CeBIT. For the first time, the 'CeBIT Competence News' newsletter, which is published five times a year, will be available in all European countries in English. Anyone who wants to subscribe to this newsletter can register at www.cebit.de/competencestore. Also available here is the free CeBIT advertising materials pack, which allows resellers to promote themselves as 'CeBIT Competence Partners.'
Components and graphic cards
Suppliers in the booming market of computer peripherals and graphic cards are joining forces for the first time in Hall 21. The product range on display extends from sound and graphic cards through to motherboards and individual components. Exhibitors include Elitegroup, Foxconn, Gigabyte and MSI.
Interactive Entertainment
The Interactive Entertainment display demonstrates most clearly how these individual components can be combined to create a high-tech 'whole.' This segment of entertainment electronics would not have been able to develop so incredibly quickly without the 'inventions' of classic IT and the extremely demanding requirements of gamers.
Visitors are also sure to be enthralled by the mousesports taking place here. For five years now, Mouz, the short name for the event, has been one of the most well-known and best clans (similar to gamer communities/clubs) in the world. 39 players from 8 countries and 4 continents are contracted to represent the team in 7 disciplines in the most important leagues and events around the world.
For the third time in succession, Europe's best computer gamers are meeting at CeBIT for the Samsung Euro Championship, the European version of the World Cyber Games. At the event in Hall 22, teams from 30 countries will compete for medals and prize money totaling Euro 100,000.
