Announcing the winners of the Micam Award
By now it has become a tradition: once again, on the occasion of the prestigious footwear exhibition MICAM ShoEvent, the MICAM AWARD has been presented. For 22 years the prize has rewarded the best buyers from Italy and abroad, based on recommendations from the exhibitors
The Italian winner this year was Vincenzo Spatarella, owner of the chain of shops of the same name in Naples.
Vincenzo Spatarella started up his business in the 1970s. With some of his relatives he opened seven shops in Naples, the capital of Campania. Right from the start, he decided to focus on quality. This choice earned him considerable attention from both Italian and foreign customers. His boutiques, on the city’s most prestigious shopping streets, offer the best brands in footwear, as well as in leather goods and clothing.
The award for best foreign buyer goes to Alexander Gogol.
Alexander Gogol has been working in the footwear sector for more than 15 years. During this time he has opened a series of shops carrying mainly Italian brands. Now he owns eleven shops scattered across the centre of the Russian city of Omsk, and in its best shopping centre. Of these, two are multi-brand, with more than 40 brands on sale; while on 3rd March this year the I love Italian Shoes boutique was opened. Covering a surface area of 350m², it confirms the owner’s interest in Italian footwear manufacturing.
