New Alternatives
It’s out with the old and in with the new for Alternative. In addition to shedding the former company name (previously known as Alternative Apparel), the garment manufacturer will add a new alternative for the eco-conscious – Alternative Earth.

“Our philosophy for Alternative Earth is simple: Make a difference with what you wear,” said Greg Alterman, founder and creative director, Alternative. “As people all over the world are taking steps to lessen their negative ecological footprint by being conscientious of our resources, buying organic foods, and using more eco-friendly products, we recognize the importance of doing our part. Alternative is working to make a difference by enabling our consumer to wear their favorite tees, while being mindful of Mother Earth at the same time.” Sharing the same philosophy, it would only be natural for Alternative to launch their new brand, Alternative Earth, in the debut line-up of POOL&rsqu;s new eco segment, s(eco)nd.

Alternative will hit the market, but not the environment, with twelve styles based on the brand’s signature, super-soft tees, now in 100% organic cotton and poly blends made from recycled plastic containers such as drinking bottles. Alternative is also practicing what they preach in their everyday business: using recycled packaging for all outgoing shipments, recycling paper and corrugated boxes, and stocking only recycled paper products in the restrooms and break rooms. In addition, a percentage of all sales will be donated to a variety of charities benefiting the environment. They are making it easy for the rest of us to save a tree by wearing their tee's.
