Sicur 08: At this edition of SICUR 2008 and within the Gallery of New Products, Dräger Safety presents the Dräger PSS 7000 Personal Safety System. This equipment means a step forward in the evolution of the breathing protection apparatus, in fire fighting equipment.

A specialist innovation and development, designed by specialists, which provides a high degree of reliability and safety for the user during the intervention. To respond to a large number of situations and to different action requirements, the breathing protection apparatus may be configured for a wide range of conditions of use, integrating the compressed air breathing unit with the mask, the communications system and the head protection.

Its ergonomics is a factor that has a decisive influence on the fact that the fireman may work safely, effectively and with the minimum effort. The new harnesses of the Dräger PSS 7000 are special, with comfort padding, high resistance to temperature and to wear and tear. And all of this with a non-slip, easy to hold surface that keeps the breathing protection apparatus securely adhered to the body.
The high and medium pressure hoses are integrated in a protected way into the transport harness in the new design, made with material using fibre glass reinforcements - this prevents them from becoming hooked up during the intervention or when removing or putting the equipment on. The transport harness handles are shaped in such a way that they allow the pieces forming the equipment to be fixed to other members of the team during an intervention.
In the fire extinguishing actions that require the use of breathing protection apparatus, the firemen and their protection equipment are exposed to dangers in which extreme temperatures and/or chemical products are the norm. To respond to the protection and safety demands, the Dräger PSS 7000 uses the latest materials that guarantee a long-lasting and constant reliability.
The design of the Dräger PSS 7000 has a large series of features that, due to a quick fastener that is easy to use, make the assembly and dismantling of all the larger components easy, such as the belt, the shoulder pads and the pressure reducing gauge. In this way, its care and maintenance becomes appreciably simpler.
